German-Indian dialogue on the financing of energy services

Berlin

Michael Geißler was invited today as an expert to take part in an exchange of experiences between Germany and India on different business models for energy service companies (ESCOs). In a lecture, the managing director of the Berliner Energieagentur (BEA) mainly presented financing models for various energy services and, in an open dialogue, best practice examples from the BEA environment, which could possibly be used on the Indian market.

“Over the past 30 years, BEA has built up extensive expertise in the financing of energy services for energy efficiency measures. Our experience ranges from innovative solutions for reducing energy costs and CO2 emissions to energy-technical modernization measures in buildings and the planning and operation of decentralized generation systems. It is a matter of course for us to share this experience with our partners worldwide. Climate protection needs international cooperation - this is what the BEA stands for,” said Michael Geißler.

The workshop “Knowledge exchange on different business models used by ESCOs” was organized by the Indo-German Energy Forum in cooperation with the Indian Ministry of Energy and the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWI). The introduction was spoken by Shri Abhay Bakre from the Indian Bureau of Energy Efficiency and Dr. Nicole Glanemann from the BMWi.
