The efficient use of energy is an important prerequisite for the success of the energy revolution and to achieve the climate protection targets in Europe. Companies that provide, promote and implement high quality energy services are elementary to make energy efficiency a success story. To honour European frontrunners in the field of energy efficiency, the European Energy Service Initiative will bestow the „European Energy Service Award“ (EESA) for the eleventh time.

The Award will be bestowed in three categories. The category Best Energy Service Promoter distinguishes active market facilitators that successfully contributed to the wider use of energy services in Europe. Energy Service Companies (ESCOs) will be awarded in the Category Best Energy Service Provider, if they positively managed to influence the market by introducing new products and through their willingness to take risks in developing the market. Up to three outstanding projects will be awarded in the Best Energy Service Project category. The emphasis will be placed on environmentally friendly, innovative and custom-built projects.

BEA, coordinator of the EU project "guarantEE” accepts applications starting now until 15 January 2019. The application documents can be downloaded from the webpage of “guarantEE” www.guarantee-project.eu.

A jury of international experts will select the award winners. The prizes will be awarded to the winners in a high-level awarding ceremony to be held in Brussels at the beginning of 2019.

The EESA is awarded in the framework of “guarantEE”. Within the project, 13 experienced partners from different countries in Europe develop innovative business and financing models for performance-based ESCO projects in public and private facilities in order to contributing not only to energy efficiency in the building stock but also to climate protection. The project focuses on selected target groups within the property sector that are addressed by workshops and publicity work; ranging from facility managers to private building owners to energy consultants.
